storytelling presenting with impact writing and publishing a book thought leadership
I am the 6th of 8 children, so I learned early the power of storytelling to get attention. I actually failed English in my final year of school but have just published my 6th book on storytelling for business. I think its a testament to the fact that if you do what you love, success will follow ...whatever success looks like to YOU

Designing products that will communicate company values and appreciation to colleagues, staff and customers. How your marketing tools can include unique collaborations- artists, poets, potters, designers from diverse backgrounds. How your marketing tools can be desired, useful, unique and carry environmental messages. Motivating a creative team.
My first job was as an art teacher (specialising in media education) at Cleveland Street Boy's High School in Sydney. From there I became the media curriculum consultant for the region and then the state. I then spent 2 years working in the NSW Premiers office in Equal Employment Opportunity. In 1988 I co-founded Corban & Blair with my cousin Amanda Blair. We have now been doing this for over 30 years. A business that retains the same values it established in 1988, that now operates in a digital world where our physical environment is at risk.
Born in NZ. I came to Australia when I was 21. I have a firm belief in education- in all forms- formal and organic. I feel fortunate to be able to work in an industry where creativity is the life force. I live in Birchgrove Sydney and have a 32 year son. Corban & Blair has given me the opportunity to meet and make relationship with some amazing and inspirational people who make my life meaningful.

At the age of 17, Gretchen’s father told her “you can’t go to engineering school because girls don’t do that”. Gretchen credits this with inspiring her to not only pursue an engineering degree but to commit her life not just to her own success, but to the success of others. Gretchen is happiest when she is helping others – through her consulting, her teaching, and her mentoring. Gretchen was a member of IWF for 10 years prior to arriving in Australia in 2018 for what was to be a two-year visit to spend time with her Australian husband, Philip’s, family in Canberra. But Gretchen soon fell in love with the country and plans to eventually divide her time between Australia and the US. Philp and Gretchen relocated to Melbourne April 2020 for her new position with Conversant, a global consulting firm based in Colorado and Melbourne. Her team is dedicated to partnering with organizations to create systems of connected humanity that achieve collective brilliance.
