Jo Fisher is the Founder and Director of Fisher Leadership, an Australian-owned internationally operating leadership advisory and executive search firm. Jo is a leading advocate for the importance of diversity on boards and senior leadership, and positive organisational psychology as it applies to leadership at all levels of the corporation. She is considered an expert in the changing world of work and the emergence of the ‘Gig Executive’. Jo serves on several boards including the Board of Infoxchange P/L, JFE Global P/L and the National Education Advisory Committee of the AICD, the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a founding member of IWFA and WOMANZ. She is an Adjunct Professor with Deakin University, a Telstra Business Women’s Award winner, and the 2019 recipient of the Global AESC Lifetime Achievement Award for impact in supporting women into leadership roles. She is presently undertaking a PhD at Swinburne University.

I am on the Board and Executive Director of Fisher Leadership (fisherleadership.com) the company I founded almost two decades ago, an Adjunct Professor at Deakin University, a Board and Committee member on other Boards, and a PhD student. The pathway to ‘now’ has been meandering, sometimes accidental, sometimes purposeful, very fortunate and bounded by perseverance, hard work and optimism. The career obstacles and accelerators were admittedly different to those of contemporary times and no doubt of future times, but one thing that I’m certain still applies, there are wonderful people all around you – just waiting to help and support you, if and when you need.
